Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluating shippers, receivers, and carriers against company requirements.
- Building and expanding a book of business in accordance with company objectives that result in long-term relationships.
- Negotiating freight charges with customers and carriers.
- Booking orders; hiring carriers; dispatching and mentoring drivers; scheduling deliveries; tracking and reporting on shipments; resolving problems.
- Evaluating negotiating and processing of freight claims.
Candidates with a strong background in sales, shipping, and receiving, particularly in perishables or other commodities transportation, are sought after. The ideal candidates must possess excellent closing skills and have the ability to take ownership and effectively manage all aspects of perishable load transportation transactions.
